Linney's Pulsing New Single Is Inspired by Sarah J. Maas' 'A Court of Thorns and Roses'

Linney has returned with ‘slow burn,’ a propulsive and brooding house track released under her own imprint, Siren Records. The new single, Linney tells EDM.com, draws inspiration from Sarah J.

Maas’ hit fantasy series A Court of Thorns and Roses, channeling the books’ high-stakes romantic tension into a pumping dance anthem. Her vocal performance is as commanding as ever, capturing the precise moment attraction becomes an inevitability by singing about the delicate boundary between resistance and surrender.

“Take me right up to the edge / Just don’t tip me over,” she pleads.Meanwhile, she threads a thumping bassline through the production, establishing a visceral atmosphere that mirrors the lyrical themes of dangerous attraction.

The result is one of Linney’s most compelling solo releases to date. The track arrives amid a breakout for the prolific DJ, producer and singer-songwriter, who was named to the EDM.com Class of 2025 last year.

She’s fresh off solo sets at Ultra Miami and EDC Las Vegas as well as live performances alongside Subronics at Coachella and the Vegas Sphere. You can listen to ‘slow burn’ below and find the new release on streaming platforms here.
