Alesso and Ryan Tedder haven’t missed a beat since their last collaboration 11 years ago.The Swedish dance music star and OneRepublic frontman have reunited for ‘In Your Eyes,’ their fourth creative pairing overall.
The track follows a run of beloved crossover records that helped soundtrack the 2010s progressive house explosion, including ‘If I Lose Myself,’ ‘Calling (Lose My Mind)’ and ‘Scars.’ ‘In Your Eyes’ wastes little time tapping into that history.The track opens with a euphoric buildup, channeling the emotional lift and grandeur that made progressive house one of dance music’s dominant sounds in the 2010s.
The melody is familiar in spirit but fresh in shape, like meeting a stranger on the dancefloor who somehow feels like a longtime friend.Tedder’s vocal performance glides over the arrangement with the evocative lyricism that made their earlier work resonate globally, while Alesso’s uplifting and triumphant production gives it the scale of a peak-time festival moment without losing the warmth at its center.
“There are a handful of people I’ve made music with where you sit down and something just happens immediately,” Tedder said.“Alesso is one of them.
This one felt like picking up a conversation we never finished.” The release adds to Alesso’s busy 2026, which has included his first U.S.headline tour, a Red Rocks headline and a massive upcoming homecoming show in Stockholm.
