Left erupts at plans to make June Traditional Nuclear Family Month as well as Pride month

Critics are blasting a Fresno County proposal to designate June as “Traditional Nuclear Family Month” alongside Pride Month, setting up a heated political fight over family values and the LGBTQ community.The resolution, brought forward by Fresno County Supervisor Garry Bredefeld, defines a nuclear family as a mother and father raising biological, foster, or adopted children.Bredefeld said the proposal aims to celebrate traditional families and their place in society.“It’s really about celebrating families.Traditional families.
It’s basically recognizing them and celebrating their values,” Bredefeld told KSEE24.But the proposal has already drawn opposition from fellow Fresno County Supervisor Luis Chavez — who argued the measure excludes many families and unfairly singles out the LGBTQ community.“Nobody is against traditional family values,” Chavez explained.“The only question is, why do you have to put in a language that specifically references this, LGBT community, trying to impose their values?
