“Lilo & Stitch” star Daveigh Chase’s remains were given to her mother, according to the late actress’ death certificate.Chase died on June 16 from AIDS, with an underlying condition of chronic polysubstance abuse, as previously reported by The Post.Chase was cremated — and her ashes were given to her mother Cathy — with the final resting place being Cathy’s home in Chatsworth, according to the certificate.Chase’s occupation is listed as “actress/vocal artist” on the certificate, though she hadn’t worked in Hollywood for many years, struggling on Skid Row.Chase famously played Lilo in the 2002 animated comedy film “Lilo & Stitch” and Samara Morgan in the widely acclaimed horror film “The Ring,” the same year.She remained active in acting until 2016, when she began her tragic descent into drug addiction.The actress was living in an RV near Skid Row when she died.A haunting video taken months before her death and obtained by The California Post, showed Chase sprawled out on the floor of a tent of Los Angeles’ Skid Row, looking malnourished.
An outreach advocate said he witnessed her grow thinner every time he saw her.Her manager, John Ryan, told The Post he tried to save her from the infamous addiction-ridden zone, but couldn’t find her in time.Ryan said he and her stepsister Gaia Brown had enlisted the help of a private investigator in 2025 to track her down and get her some help, but after he was able to speak to Daveigh on the phone, she “disappeared” again.“We were so close to finding her,” he told The Post.“Daveigh was the sweetest and brightest light in Hollywood.
