The TikTok influencer accused of plotting to kill a boyband member who fathered her child flashed a menacing smile in court on Thursday during an appearance for the alleged murder-for-hire plot.Gabbie Gonzalez, 24, was seen grinning in Los Angeles Superior Court during a hearing that saw her arraignment on the charges delayed until Sept.14.The influencer stood alongside her attorneys wearing a dark blazer over a green blouse, with her brunette hair and blonde highlights covering her shoulders.
Gonzalez is accused of a murder scheme involving the father of her child, former Why Don’t We singer Jack Avery, stemming from a contentious custody battle involving the ex-couple’s 7-year-old daughter, Lavender.Her father, Francisco Gonzalez, was also arrested in Florida in connection to the alleged plot.According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Francisco allegedly became heavily involved in the dispute, with one witness reportedly telling investigators he once said “it would be cheaper if Jack were dead,” according to TMZ.Gonzalez was arrested May 18 by the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office before being transferred to Los Angeles County.Authorities believe the alleged plot dates back to 2021 and included efforts to surveil Avery while he was living in Hawaii.Investigators say members of the Gonzalez family sought photographs or videos of the singer smoking or drinking that could potentially be used against him in custody proceedings.One alleged communication included Francisco writing, “Call Barca … never too early,” which investigators believe referred to Dustin Barca.Authorities allege Gabbie and her friend Kai Cordrey later attempted to recruit Barca to threaten Avery.TMZ further reported that a witness told investigators Gabbie said her father electronically sent Cordrey $10,000 in April 2021 under the guise of “web-development payments.” Cordrey later allegedly told investigators the explanation was fabricated and that he had no...
