Pretty Lights announced today that stems for ‘The Sun Spreads in Our Minds,’ one of the early tracks from his forthcoming album, A Trip Thru Time Fantastic, are now available to anyone who wants to remix the track.Ad 0:00 Click for sound 0:00 / 0:00 “I want to use this song to open a new dimension of collaboration,” he wrote.
Pretty Lights traces the song to 2017, the year the album’s decade-long recording process began.Fans first heard it in live sets that spring, long before a final studio version existed.
“Can’t wait to swirl this with the band and maybe even include the dopest remixes live on stage on the Soundship Space Bus tour this fall,” he added, noting this is something he’d been wanting to do for years.The stems arrive weeks after Pretty Lights announced the end of a 13-year album drought.
A Trip Thru Time Fantastic, his first album since 2013’s seminal A Color Map of the Sun, will span 45 tracks split across nine installments, the first 15 of which are currently streaming on his website.Producers can download the stems for ‘The Sun Spreads in Our Minds’ and ultimately submit their completed remixes here.
