Mayor Mamdani’s weak, half-hearted sympathies after each antisemitic attack serve a dual purpose, putting up a defense against critics while giving a wink to his pro-Palestinian supporters, assuring them he doesn’t stand in their way (“Stop Pushing Hate, Zo,” Editorial, July 25).The language he uses is very precisely chosen, usually prefaced by the common phrase, “there is no place in our city for,” as if that will scare off offenders.Richard CarhidiManhattanIt’s hard to believe we have an elected official in our city with so much hate inside of him.Most of that hate is toward the Jewish people.The stabbing of Yezhak Grunhaus was a hate crime.
