A U.S.Secret Service agent has been arrested and charged with five felony counts, including attempted manslaughter with a deadly weapon, after allegedly being involved with hazing "rituals" that left two victims with life-threatening injuries.Marquez Pinder, a 29-year-old special agent with the Miami Field Office, was ordered to be put on house arrest with a GPS tracking device.Pinder held the title of "dean of pledges" during four, hours-long hazing sessions for a Miami chapter of the Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity, according to an affidavit filed with the Circuit Court of the 11th Judicial Circuit of Florida.

One victim’s concern was "dismissed" by the fraternity when he reported "urinating blood" during the first hazing session, records show.Days later, the man had to be intubated at a hospital while receiving "critical care to prevent further physical deterioration and death," a law enforcement officer reported in a sworn statement.The other victim was treated for "blackened" and "necrotic" tissue on his buttocks from the beating, court records show."Substantial portions of skin and soft tissue" needed to be surgically removed, and he received "extensive skin grafts to cover the areas," according to an affidavit.A drone view shows the downtown skyline in Miami, April 16, 2025.
