9/11 families anti-Mamdani petition: Letters to the Editor July 29, 2026

The Issue: Families of 9/11 victims call on Mayor Mamdani to stay away from anniversary ceremonies. There are 2,977 reasons why Ground Zero should remain forbidden ground for Mayor Mamdani to stand on (“Per ‘Zo’ na non grata,” July 26).This ever-smiling hypocrite professes glowing admiration for those who helped plan this atrocity. He proudly embraces individuals who continue to heap praise upon those who participated in the death and destruction that followed in some way.9/11 was not an isolated blink in history.

Much of what led to 9/11 remains intact and is constantly being nourished by Mamdani and his ilk.The 2,977 victims would be horrified by his presence.S.P.

HershLawrenceIsn’t the 9/11 anniversary sad enough without some families deciding to politicize the occasion by convincing almost 17,000 people to sign a petition to block the mayor from attending? Many more thousands think the petition is in poor taste and an insult to the memory of 9/11 victims. Those who have signed the petition will find themselves in the minority because there are many mourners who will be attending the memorial or watching it on TV, expecting Mamdani to join them in their time of sorrow.Recall when the mayor was ostracized when he chose not to attend the recent Israeli Day parade.Imagine the public outcry if he chose not to attend the 9/11 memorial.J.J.

It should just serve as a reminder that this should never happen again and allow every American to mourn without needless disruption.Marcia FalkMonroe, NJWhoever has the authority to keep this no-good, terrorist-loving ingrate out of the 9/11 ceremony, please do so.This idiot needs to be banned.

He is the epitome of evil.Steven DelGaudioToms Riv...
