Kavinsky, the French producer and DJ born Vincent Belorgey, has died at his home in Paris of a suspected stroke, the French TV station BFM and newspaper Le Figaro reported today (July 29).The Paris prosecutors’ office said it had opened an investigation and found “no suspicious elements” at the scene.
Belorgey had reportedly been complaining of headaches in recent days. He was 50 years old.After launching his career in the early 2000s opening for Daft Punk, Kavinsky rose to prominence as part of the second wave of French touch.He broke out when “Nightcall” featured on the soundtrack of Nicolas Winding Refn’s stylized, music-forward 2010 thriller Drive.
He subsequently performed the track with Phoenix and the Belgian singer Angèle at the Paris 2024 Olympics.This is a developing story....
