Samsonites Olivia Culpo collection just got a surprise second drop

Samsonite has been a trusted brand in my family for many generations. My family owns multiple luggage sets, carry-ons and even backpacks from the brand. And while I love the durability of my older monotoned Samsonite bags, I’m always looking for the next modern rendition that the brand plans to release.Case in point: Samsonite dropped a new Olivia Culpo collaboration a month ago, featuring a basics collection with a sleek, lifestyle twist.

Initially, the brand announced a weekender, tote and even a backpack in a deep rose mauve shade. But just this week, Samsonite dropped a surprise expanded version of the same collection, now featuring the RFID crossbody and travel backpack. The RFID crossbody is your easy companion for busy travel days.

It has interior compartments to organize your belongings and also comes with a versatile removable strap if you’d rather carry it like a clutch or pack it in your luggage.Wide enough to hold your passport, smartphone and credit cards, it is also RFID-secured, so you don’t have to worry about anyone stealing your data. The travel backpack, on the other hand, is designed to fit under most airline seats and can carry your laptop, change of clothes and any toiletries with ease.

Unlike traditional backpacks, which open up on top, this is a lay-flat option, opening up like a suitcase so packing and unpacking is seamless. There’s a strap, too, which lets you slide it on top of a suitcase handlebar so you don’t have to worry about the weight bearing on your shoulders. Both products are currently live in the new deep mauve colorway as part of the “It’s Not Just a Bag, It’s a Samsonite” campaign starring Olivia Culpo.

The goal for Samsonite is to prove that the brand can do more than just luggage — it can do lifestyle travel accessories, too.For over 200 years, the New York Post has been America’s go-to source for bold news, engaging stories, in-depth reporting, and now, insightful shopping guidance. We’re not just thoro...
