A Florida menace allegedly hacked his sister with a machete while her 1-year-old daughter slept — and the toddler was later found covered in her mother’s blood.Ruben Altidore, 36, repeatedly slashed at his relative, who hasn’t been identified, in her bedroom and yelled in frustration “Oh my God, why aren’t you dead yet?,” according to an arrest report seen by WPLG.The attack happened early Monday morning in Margate, around 40 miles north of Miami, and the motive still remains unclear.Altidore allegedly left his sister with a 10-inch wound that pierced her right thigh, coming close to her bone, according to the arrest report.She was also left with a four-inch wound on the back of her right hand, and almost lost several fingers.The barbaric attack unfolded near the woman’s sleeping one-year-old daughter.She wasn’t injured but was found covered in blood, investigators said.The woman eventually escaped the home and begged a neighbor for help.

Her piercing screams were captured on bodycam video obtained by WPLG. “My [brother] is trying to kill me,” the woman reportedly screamed as investigators arrived at the scene, according to the police report.“She ran to the middle of the street and then ran to my front door where she was asking for help,” Luis Pereria, a neighbor, told the outlet.Blood spatters were discovered outside and throughout the home.A sheath was discovered in the kitchen, and the weapon, which contained “red smudges,” was found underneath a bed.Altidore was arrested later Monday and appeared in court Tuesday on charges of attempted felony murder, aggravated child abuse, and a probation violation.He wore beige prison overalls and was handcuffed for the hearing.He could face up to life in prison if convicted....
