Bill Belichick adds twist to $300,000 lawsuit over Nantucket painters serious injury claim
UNC football coach Bill Belichick is willing to go to trial over an ongoing civil lawsuit with Levesque Builders Inc., a local contractor in Nantucket.Belichick — who built a compound in Nantucket in 2018 — is demanding a jury trial and filed a third-party complaint against Levesque Builders Inc.
as part of his response to a lawsuit filed in April by island painter Andrew Jackson, according to the Nantucket Superior Court’s database.Jackson alleged he sustained serious bodily injury while working on one of Belichick’s Nantucket properties, Forty Five Fair Street LLC, in June 2024 — and sought nearly $300,000 in a lawsuit filed in April.Belichick, in his complaint, argued that Levesque Builders was responsible for overseeing all work done on the $4.8 million property and that Levesque hired Jackson as a subcontractor.“If Mr.
Jackson was injured while performing painting work at the Property – which 45 LLC denies – his injuries were sustained as a result either of his own negligence or fault in performing the work, or Levesque’s negligence or fault in failing to direct, control, manage and/or supervise the work,” Belichick’s complaint states.“Levesque, solely and exclusively, maintained direction, control, management and supervision over Mr.Jackson’s work at the property.
