Roadrunner appears to scream as wildlife fan captures comic expression

A wildlife fan spotted a roadrunner as it appeared to be screaming.Mark Koster captured a humorous picture as the bird posed in Arizona last week.He also took a picture of one with a snake meal for its chicks.Mark said, “This is a greater roadrunner on the campus of Scottsdale Community College; there are several of the roadrunners that live in that area.“It appears to be screaming, but is actually yawning.“I have actually been following these roadrunners closely since late April, as they have had two separate clutches of chicks.“This is one of the funniest expressions I’ve witnessed on this bird.”Greater roadrunners hunt by walking or running quickly before dashing at prey, including insects, lizards, rodents and snakes.They hunt to find food for themselves and their chicks, using their sharp beaks to peck prey or smash it against the ground or a rock before eating it....
