John Summit has canceled four European festival appearances scheduled for later this month, saying he needs time away from the road to rest and prepare for his upcoming arena tour.Ad 0:00 Click for sound 0:00 / 0:00 The chart-topping dance music producer is taking the remainder of August off from touring, he announced in a statement today.
The cancellations include appearances at Pukkelpop in Belgium on August 21, BBC Radio 1 Dance in Malta on August 22, Creamfields in England on August 28 and Touquet Beach Fest in France on August 29.“I rarely ever do this, but there is so much work to do for the tour and I need to recharge my battery a bit before this fall,” Summit wrote.
The break comes less than two months before the start of Summit’s ‘CTRL ESCAPE’ run, which tour takes its name from Summit’s sophomore album.It’s scheduled to begin October 1 at the State Farm Center in Champaign, Illinois and head to Madison Square Garden and the United Center, among other stadiums, before a finale at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.
The DJ, who recently delivered a momentous hometown headline of Chicago’s iconic Lollapalooza, is also poised to headline his own NYC event, Experts Only Festival, which returns to Randall’s Island September 19-20.You can read Summit’s statement below.
