California bans most replacement tires so much for affordability!

California just adopted new regulations for replacement tires that will further squeeze family budgets and make our roads more dangerous.The worst part: The decision was made by five unelected bureaucrats.The California Energy Commission, composed of five members appointed by Gov.Gavin Newsom, has now approved new tire efficiency regulations that could ban 70% of the tires currently used on the road.Most of the affordable tire models that hardworking Californians use to get to work, take their kids to school, or go to the grocery store, will simply disappear.Consumers will be left with fewer, and more expensive, choices.California is already one of the most expensive places in America to live.
Families are paying more for gas, electricity, groceries, insurance and housing.Apparently, five gubernatorial appointees can now decide that we are just not paying enough, and must pay hundreds or even thousands more for tires.Not to worry — they promise that drivers will eventually earn some of this money back from mileage efficiency gains, since tires with lower “rolling resistance” save fuel in the long run.Californians have heard that argument before.California's top news, sports and entertainment delivered to your inbox every day.
