Oklahoma Secretary of State Benjamin Lepak was arrested for public intoxication as he allegedly slurred to cops that “I want to eat my McDonald’s” moments before he was taken into custody, police bodycam shows.Lepak, who only formally assumed office in April, tried to claim he had not been drinking before he was cuffed outside the fast-food restaurant in Edmond, Oklahoma, on Friday, KFOR reported.“I just wanted to call and see if you guys can come check someone that’s out here, he’s been out here for like a while now, like he’s not causing a scene or anything but he does seem drunk,” a caller told 911 dispatchers, reporting the GOP politician. Cops swooped on the McDonald’s restaurant where they met Lepak clutching his brown takeaway bag.“I’m just gonna be honest, people are calling because they’re worried about you being intoxicated,” one officer said in bodycam footage.Lepak.42, quickly denied he had been drinking but appeared to be slurring his words. In the video, he claimed he had only traveled a “block” and initially denied driving to the restaurant – before retracting his statement.Lepak told cops he had gone to church before they proceeded to question him.“How much have you had to drink tonight?” a second cop asked.“I haven’t,” a slurring Lepak said.
