Sean Payton brutally shades Geoff Schwartz for his Bo Nix take

Sean Payton took a jab at Geoff Schwartz after the former Giants lineman criticized Broncos quarterback Bo Nix during Wednesday’s “First Things First” on FS1. Schwartz was filling in on the debate show when he was asked if he thought that Nix would take a step forward or backward going into his third season in the NFL.Payton didn’t seem to like Schwartz’s answer because when the show’s social media posted a clip of the segment, the Broncos coach responded to it on X by saying, “Always easy to tell who works at it and who doesn’t.”During his analysis, Schwartz seemed to downplay Nix’s passing through the air. “I do think he just is what he is at this point.
He looks like the same quarterback he was in college,” Schwartz said on air.“He’s consistent.
He’s not gonna make mistakes. But he’s not gonna push the ball down the field all that often.
“We know his aerial yards are short; his sort of advanced stats kind of put him right in the middle of the NFL … Sean Payton needs to get him to throw the ball in between the hashes.”Schwartz also gave the Broncos credit for molding the offense around Nix’s capabilities. But Payton didn’t seem to care much about that when he came back at Schwartz in the post on X. The video was even community-noted on X, with users pointing out that Nix has thrown more touchdown passes of at least 20 yards than any other QB in the NFL since the beginning of the 2024 season. ...
