Good Good Golf doesn't deserve to be canceled for their dumb ad in collaboration with Callaway
In case you missed it, Good Good Golf has been dragged by the golf establishment for an advertisement they posted in collaboration with Callaway golf, which promoted the Quantum Max Driver with Good Good branding.The ad features many of Good Good's top personalities, including co-founder Garrett Clark, who is seen shoving a woman before she's able to get a hold of the driver in his bag.
He stands over her as she lays on the ground and tells her not to touch his driver.Reading this makes it sounds bad, and watching it is "cringe," as Clark stated, while apologizing in a lengthy Instagram post following the backlash.The advertisement was done and presented in poor taste and the public didn't receive it well.
Even though it was meant to take inspiration from the hit horror movie "Obsession," as Clark stated in his instagram video, where a character becomes obsessed with another due to a magic spell, causing them to be insanely and violently overprotective, it was not perceived that way.Many viewers missed the point and it fell flat, to say the least.
