Ex-White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt invited to lefty gabfest The View

ABC’s “The View” – the lefty daytime talk show entangled in a legal battle with the Trump administration – has invited ex-White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt as a guest on the show, a source close to the network told The Post.Following Leavitt’s announcement that she’d be stepping down at the end of this month, there was speculation that the telegenic spokeswoman could be considering a career pivot to the small screen. Leavitt, who at 29 was the youngest White House press secretary ever, decided to leave the ultra-high-profile role shortly after giving birth to her second child in May.Her last day in the gig was Thursday.Last week, the New Hampshire native squashed the TV rumors, saying she was leaving to “spend more time with my kids,” a 2-year-old and a 4-month-old, and will return to work as a spokesperson at MAGA Inc., President Trump’s super PAC.It wasn’t immediately known whether Leavitt has responded to “The View’s” invite and, if accepted, when she would appear on the show – which is known for its gleefully Trump-bashing panelists.The Daily Mail reported that Leavitt was “in secret talks to join” the show, but a number of other news outlets later reported that she was asked to come on as a guest, not a permanent co-host. All six of the program’s co-hosts will be returning for Season 30 of “The View,” premiering next Tuesday.A Leavitt confab wouldn’t be the first time “The View” hosted a current or former member of the Trump administration.
