Baby boy killed after driver who never had a license hits mom and kids in NJ grocery store parking lot: report

A woman who had allegedly never been given a driver’s license crashed into a mother pushing a stroller, killing a baby boy and injuring another youngster.Maria CobonGuzman, 20, was allegedly driving a Ford Fusion when she hit a mom pushing her nine-month-old son and five-year-old daughter in a stroller through the parking lot of NPGS, a Kosher grocery store, in Jackson Township, New Jersey, at around 11:55 a.m., WABC reported, citing police and prosecutors.The mother and her kids were rushed to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, where the little boy was declared dead, according to the report.The unidentified mom and the five-year-old are reportedly in stable condition.CobonGuzman is facing charges of manslaughter, operating a vehicle without ever having possessed or issued a valid driver’s license, and two counts of assault by auto, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer said, according to WABC.Ariadna Lazaro-Flores, 22, of Toms River, was also charged in connection to the tragedy and faces charges of knowingly engaging in conduct creating a substantial risk of death to another, the outlet reported.Cops claimed Lazaro-Flores was aware CobonGuzman had never possessed a valid driver’s license in New Jersey or any other state, but still let her drive, the outlet reported.Both CobonGuzman and Lazaro-Flores were reportedly taken into custody and moved to Ocean County Jail.The incident remains under investigation.Neither the Ocean Township Prosecutor’s Office nor the Jackson Township Police Department immediately responded to requests for comment....
