When judges forget their purpose, which is to uphold the law and impose appropriate punishments when required, it is time for a change; their utility has ended and the people will suffer (“Judge loose cannon,” Aug.28).Brooklyn Criminal Court Judge Janice Robinson is the perfect example of someone who has taken advantage of her position to side with accused criminals.
She is an example of a liberal extremist casting aside the public’s need for justice.The bar association should punish Robinson and New York City should remove her from the bench.Richard KlitzbergPrinceton, NJUp to 10 years — which probably will end up being double — and $4 billion does not seem to be a great plan for extending the life of the Brooklyn Queens Expressway for only 40 years (“Mam’s plan to BQEase problem,” Aug.25).This sounds like a very precarious scheme for a temporary solution.
