Liberty get revenge with rout of Sky despite rough Sabrina Ionescu outing

Han Xu had a season-high 19 points off the bench.Four others finished in double-digit scoring, including Rebekah Gardner, who provided a jolt off the bench with 11 points and four rebounds at Barclays Center.But Liberty star Sabrina Ionescu would probably like Saturday’s performance back.

The Liberty guard had an uncharacteristic showing, missing all 10 of her field-goal attempts, including seven inside the arc.Her two points came from the free-throw line.

She also contributed five rebounds and four assists.It’s the latest in what’s been a worrisome shooting stretch for Ionescu, who’s gone 8-for-53 from deep over the past eight games.Before the game, coach Chris DeMarco said his confidence in Ionescu remains high.“There’s more to basketball than just scoring,” he said.
