Armin van Buuren and Laidback Luke Join AI-Powered Music App Moises as Advisors

Moises, the popular music practice and production app used by roughly 80 million people, has enlisted Armin van Buuren and Laidback Luke as advisors for its newly launched Artist Partnerships program.The DJs will weigh in on product decisions and help steer the company’s music production tools.
The move, which follows Moises’ recent hire of Charlie Puth as Chief Music Officer, signals a strategy to lean on influential working musicians in order to build trust with independent ones who remain wary of how AI is reshaping the industry.“Armin and Luke are deeply involved in product development,” Ryan Merchant, Moises’ Head of Global Communications & Artist Partnerships, tells EDM.com.
“That means our team brings them new ideas and early concepts, gets their feedback on how those tools fit into real DJ and producer workflows, and uses their perspectives to shape what we build before it reaches musicians.They’ve already brought us their list of ideas and product concepts, which our team is now working to build out.
“Just as important, they’ll continue to support our artist-first mission.That means pressure-testing the bigger questions around AI and making sure our technology is focused where it can genuinely help artists rather than replace them.” Both DJs framed their involvement around that omnipresent anxiety in today’s music industry.
Armin van Buuren said what matters most is whether the artist retains control over the creative process.“Technology has always been part of how electronic music evolves,” the trance music icon said.
