Ban Zohran from attending New Yorks 9/11 memorial

“Get off my island!” and “Get out of here!” were among the milder jeers that assailed New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani when he attended a Staten Island NYPD gathering on Aug.4.

Hizzoner, who previously called the NYPD a “rogue agency” that he wanted to “defund,” smiled and waved but lasted less than a New York minute before he sheepishly fled the podium.Mamdani’s Staten Island disgrace could prove but a minor prelude to what awaits the democratic socialist mayor on September 11, when the city will mourn the 25th anniversary of that day’s barbaric suicide attacks, in which 19 Islamist maniacs turned commercial flights into live bombs and killed themselves and 2,977 other people.Despite impassioned pleas for Mamdani to stay away from this year’s official ceremonies, including from former Mayor Rudolph Giuliani, who was in office on 9/11, the current mayor plans to show up anyway, telling a news conference that he “will proudly honor the families, the survivors, the first responders … by standing alongside them at this year’s 9/11 commemoration.”Not too many of those heroes seem to want to stand alongside Mamdani, however.More than 98,000 people — including many survivors and aggrieved family members — have signed a petition expressing “concern” that the mayor’s views and associations with terrorist sympathizers fail to show “respect for the victims, recognition of the gravity of the attacks, and a clear rejection of the ideologies that contributed to such violence.” Never mind that these are principles any respectful person, let alone the elected leader of our nation’s largest city, would honor without question.

According to media reports, some family members have said they will not attend the ceremony if Mamdani is present.The families have a point.It’s bad enough that Mamdani has repeatedly refused to condemn the incendiary phrase “globalize the intifada.” But his record on 9/11 only gets more dismal.
