During a mid-set break at this year’s Summer Sonic festival in Japan, a teaser highlighting old Radiohead footage with the words “Tokyo 2027” appeared on screen.A week later, multiple billboards with slightly different phrasing—“Radiohead 2027”—popped up around Tokyo’s Miyashita Park.
What, exactly, the band had planned for the country next year was further kept under wraps—but no longer.Today, Radiohead announced both Japan and Australia residencies for 2027.
They will hit Perth, Melbourne, and Sydney, before making their way up to Saitama, Japan, for a total of 21 shows.No word yet on Tokyo sets.
A full list of dates is below.The residency follows Radiohead’s 2025 European tour, which marked their first proper dates since 2018.They launched that run shortly after releasing their second-ever live album, Hail to the Thief (Live Recordings 2003-2009).
“What we’re going to do is, every year we’re going to do a different continent, and we’re going to do 20 shows each year,” guitarist Ed O’Brien told Rolling Stone about the band’s future touring plans.“No more, no less.”Over the past year, there’s been plenty of activity from the band’s camp: they debuted a traveling Kid A Mnesia installation at Coachella, set a London premiere for their Shakespeare rework Hamlet Hail to the Thief, and shared some choice words for U.S.
