Swedish House Mafia will play four shows at Ullevi Stadium in Gothenburg next summer, forgoing a broader European tour in favor of a run built entirely around the Swedish city.The legendary trio comprising Axwell, Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso will perform on July 2, 3, 9 and 10, 2027.
The announcement arrives in the wake of the group’s August 29 show at the same venue, which stands as their “biggest concert ever on Swedish soil,” per Live Nation.Notably absent from next year’s plans is a broader European tour.
There will be no arena dates, no festival slots and no stadium stops elsewhere on the continent.Swedish House Mafia are instead betting that fans will travel after last month’s rapturous concert, which convinced the band to build an entire show around Gothenburg rather than take it elsewhere.
The city itself will also host pop-up events, dedicated fan spaces and merch shops tied to the four shows, effectively turning it into a temporary hub for Swedish House Mafia’s global following.“Standing in the heart of Gothenburg, we felt something,” they said in a statement.
“The scale, the energy, the connection.The pride of standing together on Swedish soil, with music that travelled from our home to every corner of the world, and hearing it come home through the voices of the crowd.
And it’s something we want everyone to experience with us.That’s why we are coming back.” The announcement also addresses a complication from this year’s run after the group’s August 28 gig at Ullevi was canceled because of a storm.
Anyone who bought a ticket to that canceled date will now receive early access to the 2027 shows through a personal code ahead of the general sale.A pre-sale is scheduled for Tuesday, September 15 at 12pm CEST.
