Rams Davis Allen carted off after brutal hit against 49ers

The Los Angeles Rams already looked like a team fighting its body clock Thursday night.Then they watched one of their tight ends disappear down the tunnel on a cart.Davis Allen was injured late in the third quarter of the Rams’ season opener against the San Francisco 49ers at the Melbourne Cricket Ground after hauling in a 13-yard completion from Matthew Stafford for a first down.Allen, the first of the Rams’ five tight ends to record a catch, was hit hard by 49ers linebacker Dre Greenlaw along the sideline and immediately headed into the blue medical tent behind the Los Angeles bench.He emerged moments later, but instead of returning to the field, Allen climbed onto a cart and was taken back to the Rams locker room with a possible concussion.
