Linney comes out swinging in her latest single, ‘BAD HABIT,’ out now on her own Siren Records imprint.From the first verse, the track pulls you into a dark groove you can’t escape from.
“You lit a match, I struck a nerve / Played me wrong, got what you deserve,” she sings atop a gritty and unrelenting groove.The EDM.com Class of 2025 alum said her latest release stems from a rough period when the fallout of a friend’s betrayal left her searching for a way forward.
“I wrote it during a really difficult time, in the aftermath of a betrayal by someone I considered a friend in the industry,” Linney said in a statement.“I wrote the song I needed to hear when I didn’t quite know how to pick myself back up.” ‘BAD HABIT’ arrives during a strong year for Linney, who has blossomed into one of the scene’s most versatile artists.
The prolific producer, singer-songwriter and DJ has collaborated with Crankdat on ‘Movement,’ Jai Wolf on ‘Afterlife‘ and Blanke on ‘Hysteria,’ among other high-profile collaborations, and earlier this year held her own on stage at Ultra Miami.On the solo side, she has delivered a string of singles including the brooding ‘slow burn‘ and the anthemic ‘TOUGH LOVE,’ with ‘BAD HABIT’ continuing that run.
