An illegal migrant captured and later released under the Biden Administration stalked a Sacramento woman for months before executing her in broad daylight after she filed a restraining order against him.Border Patrol agents arrested Indian national Rohit Rohit, 22, as he attempted to cross into the US over the Arizona border in August 2023.But under the Biden administration‘s soft ”order of recognizance” border laws, Rohit was released just a month later.
The Department of Homeland Security never heard from Rohit again.But in 2025, began stalking and terrorizing beautiful IHOP waitress Shalini Thakur, 38, whom he met through Door Dash pickups made at her workplace.Thakur had a restraining order placed on Rohit as his abuse and harassment worsened.
Rohit violated that order in July by visiting Shakur’s home again, just weeks before Tuesday’s horrific killing outside a café that left her shattered family to blame the system.“I am alone in this world,” Sudesh Kumari told reporters after her daughter’s death.“Restraining order after restraining order … police did not protect my daughter.”Sherrif’s deputies said they’d been in contact with Shakur about Rohit’s harassment for months before her death, imploring her to get the restraining order she finally filed in July.But federal immigration authorities now say he never should’ve been here at all. “This tragedy would have been completely avoided if it weren’t for the Biden administration releasing this killer into our country,” a DHS spokesperson said.
