Exclusive | Donald Trumps NYC childhood home sells for $1.93M after a $500K, 8-month renovation

Donald Trump’s childhood home has officially changed hands — and the presidential pedigree appears to have paid off.The Tudor-style Jamaica Estates house where Trump spent his earliest years has sold for $1.93 million, listing agent Joe Zhu of RE/MAX Edge confirmed exclusively to The Post. That’s nearly $1.1 million more than the $835,000 developer Tommy Lin paid for the rundown Queens property last year — before pouring more than $500,000 into an eight-month gut renovation. The final price also came within $70,000 of its most recent $1.99 million asking price. The deal closes the loop on a sale The Post first reported in July, when the five-bedroom home went into contract but the agreed-upon price had not been revealed. At the time, Zhu said the offer was “very close” to asking.Turns out, it was.Zhu said the home’s connection to the president was a major draw for prospective buyers, with many interested in the property for more than just its bricks and mortar.“There were quite a lot of people” interested because it was Trump’s former home, Zhu told The Post, adding that some saw additional historical value in owning the property. The roughly 3,100-square-foot residence at 85-15 Wareham Place has come a long way from the condition Lin found it in.When he bought the property for $835,000 in 2025, it had sat vacant for years, suffered damage from a burst pipe and mold — and had even become home to a colony of feral cats, as The Post previously reported.Lin’s renovation brought in a chef’s kitchen, herringbone floors and spa-like bathrooms while leaving its distinctive Tudor-style exterior intact. The five-bedroom, four-bath property initially returned to the market for $2.3 million before being taken off the market and later relisted. After another price cut, it was asking just under $2 million when it found a buyer this summer. But no renovation can replicate the house’s biggest claim to fame.Trump’s father, real estate developer Fred Trump, bu...
