Tiger Woods returns to driving range in big hint after DUI arrest

Tiger Woods is back doing some of the only driving he can legally do at the moment. The first video of the 15-time major winner golfing since his DUI arrest and car crash in March was posted to his TGR Foundation’s live events Instagram account on Tuesday and reposted by the PGA Tour while hinting at a possible return.“Tiger Woods is back on the range!” the Tour’s X post read.“His last PGA Tour start was July 2024.”The 50-year-old was hitting golf balls with an iron during a clinic at Liberty National in New Jersey ahead of this week’s Nexus Cup.

Woods hosts the amateur event to raise funds for his TGR Foundation. Woods, who has a history of incidents behind the wheel, chose to step away from golf in March after he was arrested for DUI following a crash that saw his SUV flip over after he clipped a trailer being hauled by a truck in Jupiter, Fla.He pleaded no contest earlier this month and had his license suspended for five years. Two pain pills were found in his pocket, and he showed signs of impairment after the crash, a sheriff’s office report said.His breathalyzer test showed no signs of alcohol.

He refused a urine test on the scene.Woods, who is still allowed to drive a cart on the golf course (at least in Florida), has been very much out of the public eye since then, traveling to Switzerland for rehab in the spring. The last time the public saw Woods hit a golf ball was when he joined his Jupiter Links team for the indoor TGL final in March.Woods was asked Tuesday by the clinic’s emcee about where his golf game stands as he tries to come back from disc replacement surgery and a torn Achilles tendon over the last year-plus.He hasn’t played in a competitive golf round since the Open Championship in 2024.
