Bill Belichick gets candid about Jordon Hudsons North Carolina role and shuts down one ridiculous notion

Bill Belichick seems to be getting the hang of things on the field at UNC, and now it seems he’s trying to gain control off the field over the narrative around his 25-year-old girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, and her perceived influence on the football program. Belichick, 74, called the ongoing story that Hudson was trying to assert any control over the Tar Heels football team “so ridiculous” during a newly published interview with the Wall Street Journal.“The way the story was picked up was a long way from that,” he told the outlet.“Like, ‘She’s trying to be the general manager of the team,’ and it’s so ridiculous.”Belichick also reaffirmed the position that Hudson has no official role in the football program. Hudson and Belichick’s relationship has been at the center of ongoing interest since it first became public in 2024 and has only gained notoriety as Hudson’s involvement in the eight-time Super Bowl champion’s life has become ever more present. After various outlets reported that Belichick had asked the University of North Carolina’s communications staff to copy Hudson on emails to him, Belichick claimed that led to a misunderstanding of what she does for him. Belichick said he had asked for that because he had “a lot of other things going on” when he was hired in December 2024 as UNC’s new football coach. “I sent an email when I got here and I said, Can you please forward any requests to Jordon about my personal appearances so that I can work and coordinate them outside the university?” Belichick told the WSJ.
