From man’s best friend to worst nightmare.A 32-year-old Nevada woman named Shayna Crimo was left disfigured and screaming in sheer terror — after her canine unexpectedly tore off her nose in a gruesome, split-second mauling.The incident occurred after she innocently leaned in to give the snoozing pooch, named King, a goodnight kiss.King was asleep in bed, curled up next to her boyfriend.

“When he bit, I screamed and he let go and ran away immediately,” Crimo said.“I looked at myself and I just screamed.” The horrified owner quickly discovered the tip of her nose was gone.

“I knew that I got bit and that it was bad,’ she said.The entire experience unfolded in roughly 30 seconds.Crimo was rushed by ambulance to the emergency room — though, bizarrely, she said she doesn’t remember actually feeling pain from the grisly injury.

Once there, doctors flushed the gaping wound with saline to reduce the risk of infection.Emergency physician Dr.J Mack Slaughter said the freak accident is actually the kind of thing he sees with alarming regularity.
