Nikole Hannah-Jones could’ve put her daughter in a challenging and disciplined school (“Sacrificing Children on the Altar of DEI,” Kira Davis, PostOpinion, Sept.24).Her published excuses for enrolling Najya in a failing public school are all inadequate.Does she ever discuss why these public schools are complete disasters without using words like, “racism” and “inadequate funding?” Of course not.

She’d have to put blame on the teachers union, whose primary goal is to indoctrinate students in the latest woke causes, all of which Hannah-Jones fully supports.E.CooperGlenmontAs a father of four children and grandfather of three who all attended New York schools (some private, some public), I see one simple truth all parents must understand: They are ultimately responsible for their child’s education, not the school or the child.If the school is bad and your child is doing poorly, then tutoring, changing schools and other options are all available.
