Family of AEW star Pac speaks out for first time since wrestlers shocking death

The family of Benjamin “Pac” Satterley spoke out for the first time since the pro wrestling star’s shocking death at the age of 40.Broadcaster Renee Paquette read a statement from the Satterley family during a tribute episode of “AEW Dynamite” on Wednesday night from Pittsburgh. Satterley died Sunday less than 24 hours after performing in his final match during the All Out pay-per-view in Chicago. Paquette, with a floral arrangement and picture of Satterley in the ring, thanked all the fans for coming before sharing the words from his wife Natalie, his mom Jillian, and his dad Stephen.“We are completely devastated to have lost our beautiful Ben, but the love and support we have received from every corner of the globe has been helping us get through these last few awful days,” the statement said.“Whilst he will always have a legacy as one of the greatest wrestlers the UK has ever produced, we have been so glad to see so many wonderful tributes that acknowledged who Ben was as a person.
He exemplified what it means to be a decent human being and an honorable man with principles who adored his family and his sausage dog son Wolfie.”His family noted how much he loved Newcastle United, nights out dancing with his wife and friends and spending time with his parents, who now mourn the loss of their only son.They thanked AEW president Tony Khan for changing his life and his faith in him.They also acknowledged Khan and the company for helping them navigate Slatterley’s death and lightening their load in the aftermath.“Ben was so happy and proud to be part of this AEW family and be in an encouraging and caring environment he could feel at ease in,” his family said.The statement followed an eerie and powerful promo from Jon Moxley, the leader of Pac’s faction, the Death Riders, immediately following All Out during Satterley’s final appearance on screen before his death.Satterley, who also worked in WWE as Neville, was the last person shown in th...
