A woman has been left paralyzed from the waist down after a man fell from a tree and landed on her during a music festival in Louisville, Kentucky on September 18.Jamie Ulshoffer, a mother of two from Tennessee who attended Louder Than Life with her husband Conor, was seated on the ground near a friend during a performance on the festival’s Impact Stage when the man fell from a tree above the crowd.
It had recently rained.“I turn around and see her on her back,” Conor told Louisville ABC affiliate WHAS11.
“Then everyone said some dude fell out of a tree.” Jamie was taken to the University of Louisville Medical Center, where she underwent back surgery.The fall severed her spinal cord and she is now permanently paralyzed from the waist down.
The woman “will most likely never be able to walk again,” according to her niece, who launched a GoFundMe to help cover the cost of medical bills.“I’m not going to be able to play with the kids,” Jamie said.
“I can’t feel my feet.Can’t do anything that I used to.” She added of the man responsible: “He shouldn’t have been up there.
