Luka Doncic files petition to have daughters brought from Slovenia to US

Luka Doncic has filed a “Hague Convention” petition to have his two daughters brought from Slovenia to the United States, a source confirmed to the California Post.The petition “seeks to organize or secure effective exercise of rights of access to a child,” according to the U.S.
Department of State.Doncic, who’s in his third season playing for the Lakers, is attempting to bring 2-year-old Gabriela and 9-month-old Olivia to Los Angeles.He’s in a custody battle with his former fiancee, Anamaria Goltes, who is currently in Slovenia with Gabriela and Olivia.The petition was filed in Slovenia, a source confirmed to the California Post.
Doncic spent last summer in Slovenia alongside his daughters.He flew the Lakers out to his home country for a minicamp so he could remain near his family.He returned to Los Angeles last week ahead of training camp.
At Lakers media day, he wore bracelets his daughters had made for him.Before returning to Los Angeles, Doncic posted photos of his daughters on Instagram.
“G+O, no matter where in the world your Dad is, there is not a day when you wouldn’t be in my heart,” Doncic wrote in Slovenian.” Wherever I go, you are always with me.
I love you! ️ ️.”Doncic didn’t play for the Slovenia national team last summer so he could spend time with his children.“I love my daughters more than anything, and they will always come first in my life,” Doncic wrote in an Instagram post last May.
“As I continue working toward joint custody of my daughters, I have been forced to make a difficult decision between traveling and playing for the Slovenian national team and being with my daughters this summer.Unfortunately, it has been made extremely difficult for me to see them over the past eight months.”...
