A Milwaukee half-marathon runner desperately tried to help a dad of four who collapsed just shy of the finish line – before he was pronounced dead.The competitor, who has not been publicly named, “immediately stepped in to help” after John Meise, 36, collapsed less than 600 feet from the finish line of the Milwaukee Lakefront Marathon on Sunday morning, Meise’s family revealed in a fundraiser created to support his family.The runner and medical staff “did everything they could but John could not be revived,” his family added.Meise, who had no known medical history, was rushed to Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa where he was pronounced dead shortly afterwards.His cause of death has not been revealed....
