Israeli consulate invites Mamdani to watch Oct. 7 documentary to school mayor on horrors of massacre

An Israeli diplomat has invited Mayor Zohran Mamdani to watch a nearly hour-long documentary about the Oct.7 terror attacks — hoping the horrors from the footage filmed by Hamas themselves will “convey the reality of what happened.”“On the third anniversary of the October 7th massacre, I would like to invite you to join us for a screening of a 47-minute film produced by the Israel Defence Forces documenting the events of that terrible day through footage captured by the Hamas terrorists themselves on their GoPro cameras,” Ambassador Ofir Akunis said on social media.“Perhaps after watching this film, you will truly understand why the Jewish State is so important and why we will continue to defend ourselves, no matter against whom, and no matter when,” the general consul continued, adding, “I hope you will come with an open heart and that seeing the footage for yourself will help convey the reality of what happened on October 7th in a way that words alone cannot.”The invite comes ahead of the anniversary of the terror attacks, when anti-Israel protests are expected to break out in New York City.It also comes on the heels of Mamdani’s plan to fight antisemitism that only made a passing mention of Israel and failed to even say anything about Zionism.Mamdani has been an outspoken critic of the state of Israel since becoming an elected official in Albany, pushing the controversial boycott, divestment and sanctions movement.

He tried to push legislation that would limit state money flowing to nonprofits that have supported Israeli settlements on the West Bank.He toned down his rhetoric during the campaign, but refused to say he believed Israel had the right to exist as a Jewish state.However, he continued to issue empty threats about arresting Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu when he became mayor.Mamdani only conceded the city had zero power to cuff a foreign official after months in office ahead of the General Assembly of the United Nations....
