The man who brought the world “Gravity” is floating on air.John Mayer just extended his Las Vegas Sphere residency from six shows to a whopping 18 from April through June 2027.“Announcing this Sphere Vegas run has been one of the best moments of my year so far,” the 48-year-old shared via Instagram.“It makes real something I’ve been working on for several months, and the excitement around the reveal inspires me to go even deeper into creating this show over the months to come…I can’t wait for you to see and hear what I’m dreaming up.”All 18 concerts will be made up of three parts — a solo section, a stretch with a full band and, finally, a chunk featuring The John Mayer Trio — according to press releases. As of now, we don’t know what the set list will consist of, but it’s likely Mayer will take his biggest hits “Your Body Is a Wonderland,” “Daughters,” “Slow Dancing in a Burning Room,” “New Light” and, of course, “Gravity” to the stage.“Creating a cocktail of seventies soft rock singer-songwriter confessionals accented by deft blues guitar licks and descending piano lines, infectious hooks that an entire stadium is singing back at him, I can deny it no longer: John Mayer is goddamn good at his job,” Atwood Magazine noted in a review of a 2023 Mayer Solo Tour concert in Boston.“Pop magic that sticks in your head for weeks and makes you smile? Hell Yes.”Want to be there?Tickets for the newly-announced Sphere concerts officially go on sale to the general public on Friday, Oct.9 at 10 a.m.
