Never miss a story The money covered Jackson’s payment for the work he did over roughly two weeks before he quit Nick’s case in January 2026.“We would ask to withdraw as counsel of record.
We have no choice but to withdraw and ask to be relieved,” he said at the Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center in Los Angeles on Jan.7.Reiner filed a petition in June this year to release approximately $558,000, part of a $1.5 million–$1.6 million family trust, that was originally scheduled for mandatory disbursement on his 30th birthday in September 2023, reported the LA Times.
The petition, obtained by The Post, claimed that Nick was supposed to receive half of the trust “outright when he turned 30” and the other half would be given to him when he turned 35.The trust’s professional fiduciary and trustees are withholding the funds, citing California’s Slayer Statute, which bars a person from financially benefiting from the estate or trust of someone they intentionally killed. On the other hand, his attorneys argue that the 2023 distribution was mandatory before the murders occurred in 2025.
His lawyers also said that the Slayer Statute does not apply because Reiner has pleaded not guilty and has not been convicted.California Post News: Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X, YouTube, WhatsApp, LinkedInCalifornia Post Sports Facebook, Instagram, ...
