Kevin Durant fires back at Suns owner Mat Ishbia over trade comments

Kevin Durant has never been one to shy away from social media rants.The 16-time All-Star didn’t hold back when responding to Suns owner Mat Ishbia’s comment on trading for Durant.“I kind of just threw money at the problem,” Ishbia said of Phoenix’s deal with the Nets to acquire Durant.

Durant’s tenure in Phoenix was somewhat disappointing given the Suns only won one playoff series and missed the postseason during the 2024-25 season.The two-time NBA champion averaged 26.8 points, 6.3 rebounds and 4.6 assists across 2 ½ seasons with the Suns.Ahead of the 2025 trade deadline, the Suns were secretly shopping Durant and attempted to orchestrate a multi-team trade to send him back to Golden State.Durant found out about the trade talks from outside parties and admitted he was initially upset after the Suns’ front office caught him by surprise.
