NFL Week 8 early predictions: Falcons vs. Buccaneers, Bears vs. Seahawks best bets

Week 8 of the NFL season has snuck up on us as we hit Halloween Weekend. No trick or treat puns here, we’re just looking to make some cold hard cash by beating the closing line on a slate of interesting games.Last week, we didn’t get a ton of line movement, despite expecting some with the Giants enlisting J.J.McCarthy as their starter.I projected the Giants would move to +8 from +10 when McCarthy was announced starter, though that did not happen as John Harbaugh’s group won outright. We move on to Week 8 with a big week ahead and some big games to target. This game should played on razor thin margins with Tampa Bay’s elite defense facing a Falcons squad that should be enthralled in a run-first attack. Atlanta is running the ball 29.4 times per game, fifth most in the NFL, while also possessing the 11th ranked defense in DVOA. Tampa Bay has the third ranked defense in DVOA, so I’m expecting a tight game that finishes inside of a field goal. The last time these two faced off in Tampa Bay, the Buccaneers pulled off a 29-28 comeback win and the home team is 1-5 in the last six matchups between these two teams. The last of the hook is beginning to disappear on the betting and prediction markets.

The Bears will have 11 days of rest when they face the Seahawks. I can’t imagine that we get the hook later in the week considering what we’ve seen from Caleb Williams, as he looked like one of the best quarterbacks in the league last week against the Patriots.Chicago isn’t rated very highly in DVOA (No.15) but Williams has missed a chunk of the season to date. We’re going in on the Bears this week and we’ll bet the opposite side if the Bears get to +2.5 and hope to middle the primetime spot.Erich Richter is a brazilian jiu-jitsu blue belt but he has a black belt in MMA betting.
