Avicii's Foundation Opens 7th Free Music Studio for Young People in Sweden

The Tim Bergling Foundation, the nonprofit set up in memory of the late EDM icon Avicii, has added another location to its growing network of youth music studios. The organization’s seventh free studio opened this month in the Navestad district of Norrköping following a joint effort with Hyresbostäder i Norrköping, a local housing company, along with a handful of other groups in the area.
It is aimed at anyone between 13 and 25 who wants a place to make music “regardless of prior experience,” said Martina Larsson, Head of Communications at the Tim Bergling Foundation.Visitors pay nothing to use the space, which joins six others in the organization’s ‘Studios For A Better Day’ program, an initiative giving young people access to music production facilities and creative activities intended to support their well-being.
They launched the venture in 2022 by opening the first studio at House of Tensta, a youth center in Stockholm, four years after Avicii’s passing. The legendary DJ tragically died by suicide in 2018, at the age of 28, after years of mental health struggles.
The goal, according to Larsson, is to “establish at least ten to give even more young people the opportunity to create music.” The foundation hasn’t revealed where its next studios will land or when they might open, but for now, young people in Navestad can simply walk into Navet Community Corner and start working on music.Follow Avicii: X: x.com/aviciiInstagram: instagram.com/aviciiTikTok: tiktok.com/@aviciiofficialFacebook: facebook.com/aviciiSpotify: tinyurl.com/3tkv6c2e...
