A former West Point cadet who has admitted to drugging his pregnant girlfriend and forcing an abortion on her in 2022 was sued by his former partner last week for assault and battery.Caleb Suh pleaded guilty in June to assault resulting in substantial bodily injury to a dating partner, a federal crime in a maritime or territorial jurisdiction.
Suh is attending a graduate program at Columbia University as he awaits his January sentencing in U.S.District Court in Manhattan, according to the civil complaint.Suh’s attorney declined to comment on the lawsuit when reached by NBC News.
Columbia University did not immediately respond to a request for comment. The victim, identified in the lawsuit as Jane Doe, was a freshman and cadet at the West Point Academy when she was in a relationship with Suh, then a sophomore at West Point, according to the lawsuit.Jane Doe became pregnant with Suh’s child and said she would not get an abortion, according to the Oct.28 lawsuit filed by Jane Doe’s attorneys, Russell Kornblith and Lily White.
In spite of her decision, Suh “repeatedly demanded that Ms.Doe terminate the pregnancy” and threatened to kill himself if she didn’t, the suit said. For SubscribersFOR SUBSCRIBERSDOJ is deploying a record number of monitors on Election Day FOR SUBSCRIBERSHow to watch election night: Key races, poll closing times, bellwether campaigns and moreFOR SUBSCRIBERSThe Data Dive: Steve Kornacki’s guide to early election night bellwethersFOR SUBSCRIBERS‘Terrible betrayal’: House Democrats consider whether to banish Michigan Rep.
