Ted Cruz calls midterm election results a Watergate-level repudiation of the GOP, warns Americans will be hurt by radical Dems

Democrats’ sweeping midterm victories amounted to a “Watergate-level repudiation” of the Republican Party, Sen.Ted Cruz said Wednesday, after becoming Texas’ last remaining statewide GOP lawmaker.“2026 was not simply a blue wave; it was a blue tsunami.
It was an ass kicking. It was not simply a bad 2006 midterm election.
It was a Watergate-level repudiation,” Cruz wrote in a lengthy X post. The senator, who has previously floated making another run at the White House, argued the disastrous outcome of the election for the GOP must be “reckoned with.” “When all the votes were counted, the problem wasn’t turnout.Instead, our voters, Republicans, Libertarians, Independents, showed up and voted, and rejected our candidates, voting Democrat instead,” he continued. “Nowhere are the consequences of this election greater than Texas,” Cruz said of his state, which had long been a GOP stronghold. Republicans “lost every single statewide election” in the Lone Star State, he noted.
The defeated include three-term Gov.Greg Abbott and Senate hopeful Ken Paxton. Cruz argued that “too many Republican politicians seem like they didn’t understand or they didn’t care” about voters’ top issue, which he said was “cost of living” concerns. “Tariffs have made everything too expensive, and the Iran war has dragged on too long,” he said, breaking with President Trump.
“It should have been brief, decisive, and over.It needs to end, and we should never, under any circumstances, give the Ayatollah billions of dollars.” Cruz warned that with their new political power “Democrats in Austin and in Washington will overshoot” and may attempt to push a “radical transgender agenda,” new tax and energy policies and “persecute those they perceive to be enemies, especially Elon Musk.”He also predicted “open persecution, and nonstop retaliation” against President Trump, his family, administration officials and business leaders....
