Wacko stabs roommate to death in fight over living situation in NYC project: cops

A 67-year-old man stabbed his 35-year-old roommate to death in their apartment Wednesday after a fight about their “living situation” in a Bronx housing project, according to cops and sources.Enoch Rosado allegedly knifed Miguel Batiz multiple times after a fight erupted around 4 a.m.inside their unit within the New York City Housing Authority’s Edenwald Houses on East 229th Street near Laconia Avenue, police and sources said. The attack left Batiz unconscious and unresponsive, and he was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said. His much-older attacker was taken into custody at the scene and was charged hours later with murder, manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon, police said. Rosado’s arraignment in Bronx Criminal Court was pending Thursday afternoon. NYCHA regulations require that anyone living together permanently in its facilities must be related or have a family-like relationship.However, temporary roommates, who can reside there for up to a year, do not need to be related.There is no indication that Rosado and Batiz were related, cops said.It was not immediately clear what sparked the deadly feud....
