The Long Island mansion where the Wolf of Wall Street lived at the height of his career sells for $6.9M

The infamous Long Island party pad once owned by the real-life Wolf of Wall Street just sold for $6.85 million.The mansion in Glen Head, Long Island formerly owned by Jordan Belfort sold off-market this week, the Real Deal reported.Douglas Elliman’s Joe Scavo represented the sellers.
The buyers, a Long Island couple, were represented by ReMax Elite’s Kerry DeBellis.The disgraced stockbroker was famously portrayed by Leonardo DiCaprio in the film “Wolf of Wall Street,” a Scorsese-directed hit that chronicled Belfort’s rise and fall through the 1990s. The height of Belfort’s success – and criminal activity – took place at the sprawling Glen Head property.It’s the real-life setting of many of the film’s most memorable scenes, drawn from Belfort’s own memories.
That includes the film’s opening scene, which sees DiCaprio stumbling out of a helicopter and into his home in a drug-induced stupor. Belfort shared the estate with his then-wife Nadine Macaluso, portrayed in the 2013 film by Margot Robbie.The palatial abode reportedly boasts a two-story foyer and a ballroom-sized living room.Belfort was convicted of securities fraud in 1998.
His 8,706-square-foot home was seized by federal agents and sold off in 2001 to help pay the $110 million bill owed to his fraud victims.The 2-acre estate includes a heated saltwater pool, a putting green, an outdoor kitchen and even a treehouse.The opulent interiors feature a glass-encased handball court and a wine cellar. A previous sale in 2018 saw the home go for $2.4 million, according to Zillow records.
The former owners spent millions renovating the five-bedroom, DeBellis told The Post.“They did a complete renovation in and out,” DeBellis said.The renovations saw the installation of the outdoor kitchen, a pool house and extensive landscaping.The owners maintained some of the original details, Scavo told The Post, including mahogany doors and Belfort’s infamous safe.
