The Issue: Calls for Curtis Sliwa to drop out of the mayoral race to help Andrew Cuomo win.Please, Curtis Sliwa, do not drop out of this race (“Defiant Curtis rejects ‘bribes’ & stands ground,” Oct.22).Republican voters in New York City have the right to a candidate they choose.
Even if he drops out, his name will still be on the ballot, and I will vote for him anyway — like most Republican voters will.Maybe if the New York Post, and everyone else who’s been telling him to drop out, gave Sliwa some positive press, or at least a little respect, he would have a shot at winning.I will not vote for a corrupt Democrat.If they want to destroy this city by electing a communist, then so be it.Andrew Cuomo, as far as I’m concerned, is no better than Zohran Mamdani.Michael WalkerStaten IslandIt’s truly a shame that Sliwa cannot comprehend that his ego and pride are not a factor in the upcoming mayoral election.The critical point is that Mamdani would be terribly destructive to our city.Jack WeinbergManhattanI agree that we don’t want Mamdani for mayor, but The Post is trying to push the wrong guy out of the race.Cuomo is as terrible as Mamdani.
As governor, he allegedly sexually harassed women and was responsible for the COVID nursing-home scandal.Cuomo is the one who needs to withdraw.His supporters would never vote for Mamdani, either.
